Patanjali Divya Heerak Bhasma 300 mg pack

People who see the price of Patanjali Heerak Bhasma for the first time usually react the same way: over a thousand rupees for 300 milligrams? It is a fair question. Here is what you are paying for, how the price compares with other Bhasmas, and why a much cheaper pack is a red flag rather than a bargain.

Patanjali (Divya Pharmacy) sells Heerak Bhasma in a single 300 mg pack. We are not aware of a larger consumer pack from Patanjali. If you see other pack sizes from other makers, compare the price per 100 mg rather than per pack.

Why Bhasmas cost more than herbal medicines

A 100 g jar of herbal churna might cost a hundred rupees. A gram or less of a Bhasma can cost ten times that. The reasons are real.

1. The raw material

Herbal medicines are made from plants. Ratna and metal Bhasmas are made from gold, silver, pearl, coral and, in this case, diamond. Even the small, industrial-grade stones used for medicine have a significant cost.

2. The preparation

Every Bhasma goes through shodhana (purification) and marana (incineration). For hard materials, the classical method means many repeated rounds of grinding with herbal juices, shaping, drying and controlled heating. Diamond is the hardest substance there is, so it is among the most demanding preparations in Rasashastra. That means days or weeks of skilled work, fuel and testing for each batch.

3. Yield and testing

A lot of raw material and herbs go into each batch, and the finished Bhasma is a small amount of very fine powder. Responsible manufacturers also test their Bhasmas, which adds cost.

4. Tiny doses

The good news is that the dose is extremely small. A 300 mg pack lasts a long time at the doses physicians prescribe, so the cost per dose is far lower than the pack price suggests.

Spotting a genuine pack

A low price on Heerak Bhasma should make you more careful, not less. Before buying:

  • Check the seal on the outer box and the container.
  • Read the label. It should show Divya Pharmacy, Haridwar as manufacturer, the drug licence number, batch number, manufacturing date and expiry.
  • Compare the print quality with the brand’s usual packaging. Blurry printing or spelling errors are warning signs.
  • Compare the price. A pack at half the usual price is unlikely to be genuine.
  • Buy from a licensed pharmacy or established store, never from loose or unbranded sources.

Our checklist for buying gold and mineral Ayurvedic medicines safely covers this in more detail.

It is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women or children, and anyone with liver, kidney or heart conditions, high blood pressure or diabetes, or who takes regular medicines, must check with their doctor first. It is made from diamond and needs one of the longest and most demanding preparations in Rasashastra. The yield is small and the doses are tiny.
